Asian Green Beans

Seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, and ginger before being roasted until crispy, these Asian Green Beans are so tasty, that you'll be eating them straight from the pan.
Servings: 4 servings
Author: Mary Younkin

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound green beans, ends snapped off
  • 2 teaspoons honey

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450° degrees. Combine the oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper to taste in a mixing bowl. Add the green beans and toss to coat.
  • Transfer the green beans to a large baking sheet. Drizzle with any remaining liquid from the bowl. Roast for 25 minutes, until the beans have browned and begin to wrinkle.
  • Shake the pan or stir the beans with a spatula, and roast an additional 5-10 minutes until browned and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with honey. Serve immediately.

Notes

I often use thin French green beans (aka haricot verts) for this recipe. If you like them as well, you'll need to decrease the initial roasting time by about 8-10 minutes.
