Pepper Garlic Green Beans

- 1 pound green beans ends trimmed
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper adjust to taste
- ½-1 teaspoon kosher salt adjust to taste
Place the green beans and water in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cover, and cook until beans are bright green and still crisp, about 4 minutes.
Uncover, increase heat to high, and continue to cook until the liquid evaporates, about 2 minutes.
Reduce the heat to medium, add oil and garlic to the skillet, and toss to coat. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until beans are crisp-tender, lightly browned, and beginning to wrinkle, 1 to 3 minutes.
Remove from the heat and season generously with pepper and salt, to taste.
