Garlic Butter Broccoli

This garlic butter broccoli is easy as can be to make while it's also flavorful and bright with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon just before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound broccoli cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Italian parsley chopped small
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice OPTIONAL

Instructions

  • Bring two inches of water to boil in a large pot. Place the broccoli in a steamer basket and put the basket into the pot of boiling water. Cover the pot, and lower the heat to medium. Steam for 5-6 minutes.
  • While the broccoli is steaming, combine the butter and the garlic in a small bowl. Microwave for about 30 seconds until the butter has melted. Stir to combine. Stir in the parsley.
  • Remove the broccoli from the heat when the broccoli is bright green and still slightly firm. Drain well and then transfer the broccoli to a large serving bowl. Drizzle with the butter mixture. Toss well to coat.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper. Drizzle with lemon juice, if desired. Serve warm.
