Chick-fil-A Coleslaw

Crunchy cabbage is tossed in a tangy and sweet dressing in this Chick Fil A Coleslaw. Making this beloved menu item is a breeze, now that the secret recipe has been made public.

Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoons vinegar (white)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 medium head of green cabbage core removed, very thinly sliced, and roughly chopped, about 8 cups
  • 1 medium carrot shredded, about ¼ cup

Instructions

  • Combine the vinegar, sugar, mustard, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk to combine and continue whisking until the sugar has dissolved. Add the mayonnaise and whisk again to mix.
  • Add the cabbage and carrots to the mixing bowl and stir well to combine. Cover with a lid or transfer to an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

The original recipe calls for (2) 10-ounce bags of coleslaw max. We like our coleslaw to have slightly larger pieces, so I prefer to chop green cabbage by hand when possible. However, to be authentic to the original Chick-fil-A recipe, you'll want to buy finely shredded coleslaw mix or cut the cabbage to be as small as possible.
