½large head of red cabbagethinly sliced into shreds, about 8 cups worth
½medium red onionsliced into thin strips, about ¾ cup worth
½cupapple cider vinegar
¼cup olive oil
1tablespoonCholula hot sauceadjust to taste
½tablespoonsugar
¾teaspoonkosher saltadjust to taste
½teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Combine the cabbage and onion in a large bowl.
Whisk together the vinegar, oil, hot sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour over the cabbage mixture.
Toss well to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
This may be served immediately. However, the flavors will meld together and be even better after a couple of hours in the fridge. This will keep nicely for a couple of days.
