1poundfresh small button or Crimini mushroomshalved
¼cupchopped yellow onion
2cloves garlicminced
2tablespoonschicken broth or dry white wine
¼teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper
¼teaspoonkosher saltadjust to taste
10fresh basil leavesminced or sliced thin
1tablespoonfresh Italian parsleychopped
Instructions
In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, melt the butter and cook the mushrooms, onion, and garlic for about 5 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender, stirring occasionally.
Add the broth or wine and scrape up any bits on the bottom of the pan. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Remove from the heat and add the basil and parsley. Serve warm.
Notes
A tablespoon of fresh rosemary or thyme may be substituted for the basil in this recipe as well.
