Crispy, roasted, sweet and spicy Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts take this vegetable to a whole new level. These sprouts are inspired by the sauce on our favorite Bang Bang Cauliflower.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts have long been one of the top vegetables on our dinner table. Easy to make, full of flavor, and just fun to eat. Everyone just loves them.

But mixing it up is what keeps meals interesting and my family asking for seconds. Sauces, seasonings, techniques, it all keeps them begging for more. Sweet and heat is their current favorite combination that has been on repeat in my kitchen.

Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts

Brussels Sprouts are a vegetable that easily takes on flavors and seasonings. Sometimes a little too quickly, which I discovered when making Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts.

We love Bang Bang Cauliflower. To make that, I toss the cauliflower with a fairly heavy sauce before roasting. I can tell you from trial and error that does not work the same way with Brussels sprouts.

Brussels sprouts absorb more of the sauce, so I prefer to roast them with a much lighter version of that sauce. This provides the optimum roasted crispness while still delivering that sweet and spicy flavor we love.

My family went nuts over them. They were sooo good. And in addition to these awesome roasted Brussels, I stirred together a quick batch of Bang Bang Sauce. The sauce is heavenly and my kids were dipping other vegetables in it too. It’s a keeper.

These sprouts can be roasted in the oven or the air fryer. The air fryer gives you crispy roasted Brussels sprouts in about half of the time of using the oven. I find myself cooking more and more vegetables in it, especially for quick snacks or when cooking for just two or three of us.

What to Look for When Buying an Air Fryer

I use the COSORI Air Fryer for all of my air fryer recipes. I’m partial to a square basket air fryer as I find it easier to fit more food into the basket. This is a 5.8QT air fryer, one of the largest machines I’ve found that works effectively.

The machine is a bit retro with simple knob controls. It turns out that I really like the basic settings and ability to set the time and temp like a traditional appliance. I’ve used a few different air fryers with pre-programmed settings and I found I was still tweaking the times.

This air fryer is surprisingly easy to clean and the two-part basket locks together (it’s literally impossible for it to detach the way some do) until you open the latch and then push the button to release it. I simply wipe down the baskets with a sudsy dish scrub brush or sponge, rinse and let them air dry on the counter.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts Recipes with Bacon

Brussels sprouts and bacon are truly a match made in heaven. It is a hard-to-top combination that can be enhanced with so many other things.

Crispy roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon and pecans is a holiday-sounding side dish you can eat any day of the week.

The sweet decadence of maple syrup balances the soft nuttiness of roasted Brussels sprouts and the crispy bacon pieces in a dish that is simply divine. If you serve this to guests, the odds are good that you will be asked for this recipe.

Brussels sprouts with bacon, sliced almonds, and garlic is a side dish dream. A drizzle of red wine vinegar brings all of the flavors together in this easy recipe.
